Fees

The fees are as follows

 

Course Fee: G$80,000 for the entire course

Exam Fee (payable to Cambridge, UK) $48,000 for all four Modules. Payable on submission of the first module.

Text book: School of Nations, in collaboration with Cambridge University, has produced four detailed, 240 page, manuals one for each of the four modules: $2,000 for each book. 

 

Total Cost: $136,000

 

This fee can be paid in three installments, termly or monthly. If the student prefers, the Diploma can be written over a two year, rather than a 9 month period.

 

The Diploma will commence in September 2008.

 

The teaching staff will comprise well-qualified persons in the field of education from Guyana and from overseas.

 

6.0.  Location

The course will be taught at School of the Nations in Georgetown and in Linden. The course can also be studied by distance.

Refunds

If you to choose to cease attending the course for whatever reason the fees will be returned (minus a $3,000 administrative charge) once you withdraw before September 30th 2008. No refunds will be given after this date.

Target group:

The Diploma is intended for teachers/trainers in educational establishments, training organizations and companies. They can be fulltime, or part-time. Their teaching role may be their only responsibility or one of a number of responsibilities they have within their institutions. The Diploma is equally relevant to persons from different subject backgrounds.

 

Assessment Procedures

Method of assessment:

Assessment is by assignment, one for each Module. These assignments are practical, based on day-to-day professional work. In each assignment, candidates will use the appropriate Cambridge assignment template to gather, organize and present relevant evidence of their experience and performance.

 

The assignment template has two parts

Part A Structured activities specified by CIE

Part B Reflective report on the experience of the module as a whole

 

Course structure

The course in Georgetown will be taught as follows:

Two, two-hour, lectures per week on Tuesdays and Wednesday from 4.30 to 6.30

One, two-hour tutorial per week on Thursday 4.30 to 6.30.
